Position Summary:
The Packaging and Labeling Designer (P&LD) specializes in design, development , and management of pharmaceutical product packaging and labeling for Empower Pharmacy. In collaboration with company and pharmacy leadership, the P&LD is responsible for creating all external product package and label designs that are aesthetic and compliant with pharmaceutical guidelines. This requires the P&LD to possess an acute attention to detail, ability to follow directions, and the creativity to amplify the company brand. Package design includes product packaging as well as shipping boxes, coolers, and display boxes. Additional responsibilities include communicating with customers requesting custom product design and ensuring all projects are delivered on time.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assembles and prepares primarily pharmaceutical product packaging and labeling.
Serves as packaging and label designer for all products , including request intake, design, project timeline, completion, project tracking and other related tasks
Coordinates with external clients as needed to complete any design projects.
Ensures all designs are delivered as scheduled with the best possible quality and compliance standards
Applies all company brand standards to any packaging content and other marketing projects
Execute custom packaging and labeling requests for specific customers or custom products. Monitors scheduling, planning, and resource management from concept through delivery for any additional assigned marketing projects
Develops, maintains, and updates project files Improves the turnaround time, accuracy, and quality of product labeling requests by implementing processes
Able to collaborate and delegate marketing personnel to complete project requests
Attention to detail, ability to follow direction, adherence to compliance guidelines, and brand consistency”
Knowledge and Skills:
Sense of composition, typography, color theory, space, scale, layout, and grid systems in print and digital design
Strong linguistic, grammatical, and spelling skills
High adaptability in an environment with meaningful change and ambiguity
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be detail-oriented and possess a high level of accuracy
Willingness to work collaboratively and demonstrate effective teamwork
Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
Must be a self-starter and results-driven
Sensitivity to confidential documents and information
Aptitude for science and pharmaceutical terminology
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent preferred
Previous experience in graphic design, flyers, catalogs, and email campaigns preferred
Previous experience in packaging and label design for pharmaceuticals, nutritional supplements, cosmetics and/or food preferred
Strong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of Salesforce and Pardot preferred
