JOB SUMMARY
The position involves work performing assigned clerical and secretarial work that requires taking independent responsibility for clerical functions or processes. Work involves carrying out routine administrative work and unique tasks.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Types a variety of materials including notices, letters, statistical reports, etc.
Answers customer inquiries, both over the phone and in person.
Assists citizens with complaints and makes service requests.
Performs behavior assessments and temperament testing of all animals.
Generates requests for service in response to citizen complaints, and dispatches on duty Animal Control Officers to assess the situation.
Sets up and maintains files for the division.
Carries out routine administrative work and unique tasks.
Applies interpersonal skills with other employees and the public.
Operates standard office equipment.
Responsible for creating and updating database of animals, communicating availability to local rescue groups and distributing information to the public.
Assists customers with searching the facility for their lost animals or possible adoptable animals.
Performs County Shelter maintenance procedures in accordance with the Animal Care Facilities Act, involving feeding, watering, sanitization, and other animal welfare related duties, as needed.
Performs work at assigned location during specified business hours.
Performs related additional duties as required and assigned.
